One of the reasons for our success is we have each created monthly packages which mean we have a certain amount of income we know will come in each month. For an entrepreneur, there is nothing more comforting than the security of know you can make it in your business for the next six months. We have both been able to create this in our personal businesses and it certainly takes the pressure off so we can enjoy our business more.
Here are our tips for you to create your own monthly packages
First, it has to be something you can outsource.
If you are doing monthly bundles, have someone who will create the pdf and put it together for you. You can’t be working in your business while you are trying to grow it. The whole point of these packages is to have something that is easy for you to replicate each month. If you are service-based, think of something your clients HAVE to do each month and see if there is a way you can assist them with that. If you are product based, monthly subscription boxes are very popular right now. I have 2 of them and absolutely love them!
Second, it has to be something that makes a profit.
Look at what it costs you to outsource everything you need to and see how much money is leftover. If you are product based, give yourself a budget of what you will spend on the items and shipping costs. It is very easy to overspend in this area and the whole point is that it has to be making you money.
Third, create a good contract.
Make sure invoices are sent on the same day each month. Make sure the client knows payment MUST be sent on x date in order for service to continue. Make sure they know they cannot cancel after a certain date each month. This is for you and the client. It is easy when it’s only a handful of people but who really wants to be tracking down payments and information. Clients have requirements as well and they have to live up to them.
Forth, make sure it is something you can easily deliver.
This shouldn’t take up your whole week. This should take up an hour per day max. The idea here is to create something that gives you a repeat income that is easy to manage. SIDE Tip – always have multiple streams of income. Courses, memberships, monthly packages, main packages, these all add up at the end of the month. One of the greatest moments in my business was when I realized I had clients in every single one of my programs and it was amazing!!!!
Fifth, make sure it is something you enjoy and fits in with your business.
It can’t be something a monthly mindset bundle when you are a graphics person. That’s not what your clients come to you for. If you do graphics, give them monthly feature images or Instagram images. You can bundle the images and sell them to everyone so it’s a one and done. (That is a real thing too because I have seen some graphic designers do that)
This is definitely a sit-down and have a think outside the box a bit thing. Really take a good look at the clients who are coming to you already. What is the thing they struggle with month to month? Ask them to what they want.
